About the Founder

John Walp, President of Converje, LLC, has over 30 years of practical experience in Human Resources Management and Compensation Consulting. Before founding Converje in 2004, John led all Human Resources functions for Advanta Corp., reporting directly to the CEO and President. Previously, John oversaw the design and administration of executive compensation and variable pay plans for CoreStates Financial Corp. and consulted for U.S. and Canada clients of MacLean Associates and of Mercer, developing all types of base pay and variable compensation plans.

John has served St. Joseph’s University and Drexel University in adjunct roles, and for six years served as the Chair of the Board’s Compensation Committee for Thomas Jefferson University, a $6.5 billion academic medical center and health system. John has spoken at Cornell University, Temple University, and the International Quality and Productivity Center. He’s been quoted in Credit Card Management, and The Philadelphia Inquirer, and has co-authored articles published in the Benefits and Compensation Digest.
